Concerto

Ce concerto pour soprano colorature et orchestre suit le plan de l’ouverture à l’italienne en trois mouvements (vif, lent, vif). Le premier mouvement, Primaverile, ouvre l’oeuvre dans un climat lumineux et expose un thème mettant en relief la légèreté de la voix. Le second mouvement, Andante cantabile, contraste par son caractère grave et introverti. L’Allegretto con spirito conclut le concerto dans un rondo festif et joyeux mettant à l’épreuve la virtuosité de la voix.

This concerto for coloratura soprano and orchestra follows the plan of the Italian overture in three movements (lively, slow, lively). The first movement, Primaverile, opens the work in a light atmosphere and exposes a theme emphasizing the lightness of the voice. The second movement, Andante cantabile, contrasts with its serious and introverted character. The Allegretto con Spirito concludes the concerto with a festive and joyful rondo that puts the virtuosity of the voice to the test.
